Istilah Penerbangan Dalam Bahasa Inggris
airfare = ongkos pesawat terbang, harga tiket. Contoh : The cost of food and drink is not included in your airfare.
aisle = gang antara kursi penumpang pesawat, jalur tempat berjalan penumpang dalam pesawat. Contoh : Do not put your luggage on the aisle.
aisle seat = tempat duduk penumpang dekat gang. Contoh : Sometimes I don’t like an aisle seat.
baggage = barang bawaan penumpang. Contoh : Please take care of your own baggage.
baggage, luggage claim = tempat mengambil bagasi. Contoh : Follow this way to the baggage claim.
boarding pass = tanda masuk penumpang pesawat. Contoh : You will be given a boarding pass after check in.
cabin = bagian dalam pesawat, kabin. Contoh : No smoking allowed in the cabin.
call light = tombol untuk memanggil pramugari. Contoh : If you need help, just press the call light.
captain = pilot utama, kapten pesawat terbang. Contoh : The captain greets us as we walk inside the cabin.
cockpit = bagian depan pesawat terbang tempat pilot berada. Contoh : The co-pilot is in the cockpit right now.
complimentary = gratis. Contoh : We were offered complimentary drinks.
co-pilot = ko-pilot, pilot kedua. Contoh : The co-pilot is still young.
domestic = dalam negeri. Contoh : This airlines only serves domestic flight.
emergency exit = pintu keluar darurat. Contoh : There are four emergency exits in this airplane.
e-ticket = tiket elektronik. Contoh : You don’t need to print this e-ticket, just show it when check in.
excess baggage = kelebihan bagasi. Contoh : You have to pay for excess baggage.
first-class = kelas utama. Contoh : There are more entertainment available in the first class.
gate = gerbang. Contoh : Passengers please proceed through gate 4B
jet lag = kelelahan karena penerbangan jarak jauh atau zona waktu berbeda. Contoh : I still have jet lag after the long flight from Dubai.
land = mendarat. Contoh : We will be landing in Jakarta in five minutes.
life vest, life jacket = pelampung. Contoh : The life jacket is under the seat.
overhead bin/compartment = tempat penyimpanan barang di bagian atas kabin. Contoh : Please store your baggage in overhead compartment.
oxygen mask = masker oksigen. Contoh : The oxygen mask will automatically drop if the air pressure is unstable.
passport = paspor. Contoh : You have to show passport at the entrance.
pilot = pilot. Contoh : The pilot smiles at us.
refreshments = makanan kecil dan minuman. Contoh : We enjoy our refreshment on the flight.
row = baris. Contoh : Your seat is at 7th row.
runway = landasan pacu. Contoh : The plane is still standing at the runway.
seatbelt = sabuk pengaman. Contoh : Always use your seatbelt.
steward / stewardess / flight attendant = awak kabin, pramugari/pramugara. Contoh : If you need anything just ask the flight attendant.
take off = take off, mengudara. Contoh : The plane is ready to take off.
taxi in, out = proses berjalan pesawat dari landasan pacu ke gerbang atau sebaliknya. Contoh : Please remain in your seat while the plane taxi in to the gate.
touch down = posisi mendarat ketika roda pesawat menyentuh tanah. Contoh : The touch down was very smooth.
turbulence = turbulensi. Contoh : Some people afraid of turbulence while flying on a plane.
window seat = tempat duduk di sebelah jendela. Contoh : I prefer window seat than aisle seat.
